Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 29, 2026

Kinetic is operated by Jacob Gold ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information Kinetic collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Kinetic is currently offered to residents of the United States only.

Information Kinetic collects

Account & profile. Email address, authentication identifier, username, display name, bio, profile photo, and birth year (used to confirm you meet the minimum age below). Your full birth date is not stored.

Health, fitness & nutrition data. Workouts, sets, reps, weight and load, cardio sessions, body metrics (such as body weight), hydration logs, meals and macro/calorie data, routines, programs, and the goals you set. This is sensitive information — see "Health information" below.

Photos you submit. If you use the AI recipe or nutrition-scan features, photos of food or groceries you choose to upload are sent to our AI provider (see "AI features" below) to generate a response.

Social content. Posts, comments, kudos, follows, Circle memberships and invites, blocks, and reports you create or receive.

Diagnostic & usage data (optional). If enabled, Kinetic uses privacy-preserving product analytics and error monitoring. These are engineered to send only counts, booleans, durations, and fixed category names tied to a random identifier — never your name, email, username, free text, body metrics, food descriptions, or photos. Error reports strip IP address, email, and username before they leave your device.

How Kinetic uses this information

AI features & other processors

Kinetic's AI-assisted workouts, nutrition parsing, and recipe recognition are powered by Google's Gemini API. Prompts you submit — which can include body metrics, food descriptions, and photos you upload — are sent to Google to generate a response. Nutrition lookups may also be matched against the USDA FoodData Central public database, which does not receive any information that identifies you.

We do not control how Google's AI infrastructure processes requests beyond the request itself, and AI-generated output can be inaccurate — see the Terms of Use for the full disclaimer.

Who Kinetic shares information with

Kinetic does not sell your personal information, and does not share it for third-party advertising. Information is shared only with the service providers that operate Kinetic:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of Kinetic or its users, or if Kinetic is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case you'll be notified before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

What other athletes can see

If your profile is set to public, other signed-in athletes can see your profile, posts, and social activity. If your profile is private, your posts and profile are visible only to accounts you approve. Workout data used in Circles standings is limited to the specific metrics that feature discloses (for example, training points or active days) — never your calorie, weight, or measurement data.

Data retention & deletion

Kinetic retains your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Profile settings. When you delete your account, Kinetic deletes or anonymizes your personal data within 30 days, except where a short additional period is required to purge encrypted backups or where we're required to retain limited records by law.

Your choices & rights

California & other state privacy rights

If you're a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request its deletion, correct inaccuracies, and opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" — rights Kinetic already satisfies by design, since we don't sell or share your information for cross-context advertising. Residents of other states with comparable privacy laws have similar rights. To exercise any of these, email us at the address above.

Health information

Kinetic collects fitness and nutrition information that can be considered sensitive health-related data under some state laws. We use this information only to provide the features you use it for — your training journal, nutrition tracking, and the AI features described above — and we do not sell it or use it to serve you third-party ads. Consumer health data is never shared with data brokers or advertisers.

See the separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy for the categories, sources, purposes, recipients, and rights that apply to this data.

Children's privacy

Kinetic is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13. Account creation requires a birth year consistent with being at least 13 years old, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

Security

Kinetic uses industry-standard safeguards, including access-controlled cloud infrastructure and encrypted data in transit, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where required, notify you in the app.
